YUBA COUNTY CCW PERMITS

Obtaining a CCW (carry concealed weapons) permit in Northern CA is much easier than many bay area and Southern CA counties. You must schedule an appointment directly with the Yuba County Sheriff Department, CCW division. You shall demonstrate good moral character, prove that you are an outstanding resident of Yuba County, and be prepared to undergo a thorough and complete background check.

Upon approval of your initial Yuba County CCW application, you will be required to complete at least an 16 hour CCW training, including demonstrating the ability to safely (and proficiently) handle and use the handguns (up to 3) to be on your permit, and you must "qualify with each weapon to be on your permit, by specific serial number. The gun(s) must be registered to you.

Yuba County CCW renewal applicants must attend an 8 hour CCW renewal course, which includes range qualifications.

In CA, unfortunately, it is a "privilege" and not a right to be issued a CCW.
